Jack has been responsible for leadership positions and innovations in his sports, business, writing, and academic career. He continues to achieve solutions to problems and develop strategic solutions in advance of others or in concert with industry leaders.

Founder. Lifetime Fitness Triathlon Series (2007). In 2009, it became the Race to the Toyota Cup, the largest professional triathlon series in history. Jack was part of the small team that negotiated, with Toyota, the largest sponsorship in the sport of triathlon.
Founder & Board Chairman, Triathlon America, Incorporated. The first industry group for the sport of Triathlon. (2010)
Co-Founder and Board Chairman, Triathlon Business International, Incorporated (2012). When launched, the organization was U.S. based with the name Triathlon America, Incorporated (2010). Demand from multi-national and foreign entities who wanted involvement encouraged the move to TBI in 2012 in advance of the Olympic Games.

Rebranding of National Governing Body for triathlon. Name, logo, and branding proposal and approval from Triathlon Federation USA (TriFed) to USA Triathlon (1994).
Designer, Proposed 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Triathlon Course, Long Beach, California. (Note: Jack designed the proposals for the the unsuccessful Olympic bids for Los Angeles in 2024, 2016, 2012, and 2008.
Created the first global triathlon prize money standings for the sport of triathlon in 2014. Now maintained by Challenge Family Media and TriRating.
Created the trademarked SwimStream® system for triathlon. In response to an unusually high occurrence of swim related accidents and deaths, we studied the issue of the nature of swim starts in the sport of triathlon. Wave starts had been the norm for decades and they are inherently unsafe for most events. Through extensive research, we created a new start system in 2012 which has been resulted in an unprecedented safety record with not a serious incident in over 40 triathlons and 25,000 athletes.
Chairman, first international conference for the sport of triathlon. London, UK (2013). Triathlon Business International, Global Conference.
Created and developed the first Mass Participation/Multisport industry Business Confidence Index. As Board Chairman of Triathlon Business International, Inc., Jack created in 2015 the first for the industry. It measures 9 different areas of the current sentiments/confidence in the industry in the market. Aggregate and baseline data is measured. Race Director of the Year (USA Triathlon, 1996)
Created the Stroh’s/Jeep Tri-America Triathlon Series (1983). The first national triathlon series. Events included: Chicago, Memphis, Wilkes-Barre (PA), Cleveland, Cascade Lakes (Oregon), Claremont (FLA), Newport Beach, Catalina.
Created the Triathlon Pro Tour (TPT), 1991. The first professional triathlon tour on a global scale. Events Included: Muskoka (Canada), Cleveland, London, Powerman (Germany), Chicago, Nice (France).
Named to the USA Triathlon Century Club (2013). Awarded only to those who have produced over 100 triathlons and participated and completed over 100 triathlons.
Created the MegaSprint distance for the sport of triathlon. In 2015, in response to a growing demand for a longer bike segment on our triathlons, came up with a distance that combined a sprint distance swim and run with an Olympic distance ride. It was an immediate success and we added it on our courses (where it fit) the following year.
Named as one of the Most Influential in the sport of triathlon.
